The Civility & Discourse Framework

The National Presidential Youth Convention

On January 11, 2024, we launched this national campaign at the Concord, NH, City Auditorium — live in-person and streamed across the country — to boldly and non-partisanly push back against incivility.

The Movement Is the Message

Pushing Back Against Incivility

In a purposely non-partisan way, we are bringing back Civility to America. We're convening students from around the country to ask Americans of all ages to look themselves in the mirror and ask:

"What side of this discussion do you want to be on —
the Civil side, or the Uncivil side?"

We are bringing forth a solution to challenge the voices of the uncivil. We are problem solvers — not finger-pointers.

We believe:

  • Civility must be embedded in the teaching of Civics and Social Studies
  • Students can lead the Civility Movement across America
  • Civil discourse is a learnable skill, not a lost art
  • Solutions come from the table — not from leaving it
  • Civics courses should be renamed Civics and Civility
